Summary of the Article
The beginning of this article speaks of how beautiful Sierra Leone really is, how rich their soil is, the amount of abundant rain they receive annually, rich minerals they produce, etc. Amid all of these blessings within the country, they are still one of the poorest countries in the world. Why you may ask? It is because of not just their government, but also their people.
Thoughts, Emotions, and Observations about the Article
As I was reading this article, I could not help but to think to myself "What a shame!", because Sierra Leone has all the great qualities of what makes a great thriving country. Sierra Leone has definitely had a rough past, in which they have faced ruthless Civil Wars. However, I believe that it should only make their country only that much more stronger. Yet they face their neighbors with bitter feelings, resentment, and hate.
How This Relates to Politics
This article goes to show that people who are proud of and revere their own country, will produce a strong population and government. Since all of those Sierra Leoneans do not have respect for their country, their government, and their people- nothing can be achieved even if they do work hard for it! Without great communication, productivity will be lost. It is vital for Sierra Leone to be able to prosper and seek out compromises in order to grow as one.
